A recent report from BrightHR entitled “It Pays to Play”, has looked into the long-term benefits of creating a more interactive and engaging workplace
The survey looks at happiness levels in relation to gender, age, wage and even regional location. The results of the report have uncovered that staff in Wales and the North East contain the greatest number of people having ‘no fun’ at work, whilst employees in Northern Ireland see fun as the most important.
Comparably, 40% of those earning under £15,000 indicated that they didn’t do any fun activities at work; 33% earning £15,000 to £25,000; 24% earning £25,000 to £35,000; 21% earning £35,000 to £45,000; 16% earning £45,000 to £55,000 and 21% of those earning £55,000 or more.
Owen McArthur, Acquisition Manager at BrightHR, spoke to Executive Grapevine about the thoughts behind the survey. He explained: “BrightHR was founded out of a notion that workplaces are continuously changing. Employees want to be engaged and involved in fun activities, without being tied to a nine-to-five schedule.
