Halfords employees fired after shocking racist rant

Two employees from a well-known British retailer have been fired following an incident of racial abuse.

The staff in question were working for Halfords Autocentre in Grays, Essex, when they left a series of racist comments on a customer’s voicemail. The male and female workers were caught out when they called the customer to confirm a booking; however, they forgot to hang up the phone and were heard making several discriminatory remarks.

According to the Mirror, one of the employees could be heard criticising the customer, who was reportedly African, for using the retailer’s free car checking service. They also said the he was “the sort of person who would drive to Aldi for f***ing bog roll.”

The female worker went to on say yet more disparaging remarks, such as: “My boyfriend, he hates them African people. They are the worst when it comes to money.”
