Facebook is the best performing company for recruitment according to a survey conducted by The Lighthouse Company, The Drum reports.
The annual Shipping Forecast New World Talent survey put the tech titan ahead of other media and marketing companies such as ITV, the7stars, Channel 4 and Adam&Eve/DDB.
An example of their attempts to pioneer the recruitment process can be traced to last June, when Facebook US introduced a trial of the National Football League’s (NFL) ‘Rooney Rule’ in an effort to embrace diversity when hiring. The Rooney Rule, named after Pittsburgh Steelers owner Dan Rooney, was introduced by the NFL in 2003. It requires recruiters to interview a minimum of one black or ethnic minority candidate for any head coach or senior football vacancies.
Twitter topped the list of firms that ‘could do better’, beating Yahoo, News UK, Google and Bauer Media for the undesired accolade.
