The Guardian has a shrewd hidden message on its website that can only be seen by the most perceptive of jobseekers.
The news site has installed a pseudo-vetting barrier to ensure the application process is filled with developers who take an interest in the workings of the website. It is also an example of a hiring method that differs from the norm and stands out for the candidate, energising them for what may be an innovative interview process ahead.
By visiting the website and inspecting the code, a secret message can be unearthed in the coding of the website. Going onto the comments section of the coding reveals the words: “We are hiring.”
It then goes on to say: “Ever thought about joining us?” with a link to a website that offers developing jobs such as; Software Engineer, Senior Software Engineer, Client-side Developer, and Associate Developer.
