Hilarious rail employee engages commuters

The commute into work can be fraught with annoyances such as crowded platforms, overpriced tickets and stuffy carriages.

But in the midst of an otherwise gloomy morning, one train driver decided to give his passengers reason to smile.

A Southern Rail driver, known only as Steve, has become something of a social media star by conducting a quiz over the tannoy of the train. Passengers can play “guess the year” every morning, tweeting their answers with the hashtag #timetunneltrain.

The light-hearted quiz has caused a Twitter storm, with many passengers taking to the online platform to praise Steve’s ingenuity and sense of fun.
