HR managers and business leaders have an unique role to play in order to save their employees’ jobs when the fourth industrial revolution comes, according to Andy Campbell, HCM Strategy Director at Oracle.
“The workforce of the future is going to be massively different from the one we have at the moment,” Campbell exclusively tells Executive Grapevine. “It follows on from the impact technology has had in the past five years alone and how the pace of technological development will continue to grow. This is an ideal time for us in HR to shape how that future looks like.”
The statement comes after the World Economic Forum (WEF) had its conference in Davos last week. The main theme of the conference was to discuss how robotics and automation may affect the workforce of the future. At the same time, the WEF released a report which suggested that five million jobs could be lost due to the fourth industrial revolution.
But Campbell believes that there are at least two ways in which companies can save their more senior employees.
