CEO awards workers with what may be the most bizarre bonus ever

Funny, provocative or just plain strange? A CEO at a tech firm has found what may be the oddest bonus ever to reward his employees.

The Chinese company Lianlian gave its single male workers an alternative to yearly bonuses at its recent end-of-year party. Instead of awarding their hard work with money, the CEO Wang Yuzhu gave his workers blow-up sex dolls.

Other employees were given sandals, dehumidifiers, spicy cooking sauce and t-shirts. The CEO told the People’s Daily that he wanted to award his workers with something original. The company develops online dating applications and has a predominantly male staff in their 20s and early 30s.

The report doesn’t mention if the men were satisfied with substituting their bonuses. Annual bonuses in China traditionally amount to between one and six times a monthly salary, according to The Mirror.
