The hit TV show Suits is back tonight after its mid-season break. While Harvey Spector (played by Gabriel Macht) and the other lawyers at the New York legal firm excel in most things, the fictitious company is found guilty of one “narrow-minded” recruitment faux pas.
The firm only hires Harvard graduates, and one expert in graduate recruitment refutes this practice.
Christos Orthodoxou is the Founder and Head of Business Partnerships at Class Careers, a company specialising in connecting graduates to employers.
Speaking exclusively to Executive Grapevine, he says: “I think it’s quite obvious that by having favourites - or ‘go-to’ schools and universities - you are simply limiting your talent pool.
