Deloitte could soon be building homes specifically for employees to counteract the rising costs of living in the City.
Professional services firm Deloitte has already helped younger employees joining the company by securing rental agreements and accommodation in London. However, the firm may now be forced to take this one step further by constructing residential complexes for their expanding staff.
Deloitte began their scheme by securing flats in Queen Elizabeth Park, the former Olympian athlete’s village, last year. This initiative was intended for 40 graduates moving to London to work. Now, however, the number of young employees living there has risen to 85, with Deloitte claiming that the number is climbing all the time.
James Ferguson, Partner at Deloitte, told City AM: “What it's led us to think about is whether we can expand it with other private rented sector (PRS) landlords and similar properties. The intention would be to expand it to everybody.
