Sir Stelios Haji-Ioannou, the Founder of easyJet, is set to obstruct the pay deals for his budget hotel easyHotel.
In a statement to shareholders ahead of tomorrow’s AGM, Haji-Ioannou said: “[easyGroup wants to] register its concern over the proposed cost plan associated with the execution of the company’s strategy.”
He will be voting against easyHotel’s remuneration policy, and withholding his vote on all other resolutions.
“This is not just about salaries, this is about growing profits,” he said, “Because I haven’t seen enough effort, if you like, to reduce costs, I am taking this unusual step of actually voting against the remuneration report.
