CFOs concerned about HR issues

39% of Chief Financial Officers worry that their employees won’t be able to cope with any extra work this year, according to a new report.

The survey was conducted by Robert Half UK, and found that a further 38% struggle to find and retain professionals with the right skills. More than half (58%) of the 200 senior figures interviewed admitted that they had lost a good employee to another company that offered a higher salary in 2015.

CFOs also labelled the greatest pressure facing their accounting and finance function as skills shortage (26%), followed by audit risk, then financial reporting (17%) and accounting processes (11%).

Phil Sheridan, Managing Director at Robert Half UK, commented: “With the growing war for talent, retaining professionals with the right skills to cope with the extra workload will prove challenging and will add to the day-to-day pressures that CFOs and FDs face.
