Air Europa Express has been denounced by trade union Union Sindical Obrera (USO) after charging candidates €60 (£45) per interview.
Air Europa Express is a budget Spanish airline that’s a subsidiary of Air Europa.
Unemployment in Spain currently stands at 21%. Approximately 2,000 applicants applied for the 100 pilot positions and 150 cabin crew positions, meaning the firm potentially made €120,000 (£90,000).
Speaking to The Telegraph, USO spokesperson Isaac Valero said: “If they asked for €60 this time, what may they charge the next time? Faced with an ever more precarious labour market, with over 20% of the active population out of work, this is clearly a disgraceful and abusive new measure which only contributes to making it harder for people to access employment.”
