38,000 members of the British Medical Association (BMA) went on strike on Tuesday morning after salary negotiations with the Government fell apart last week.
The junior doctors are expected to join 150 picket lines set up across the country. This is the first time in 40 years that junior doctors have gone on strike in the UK.
