Alert Logic: Cybersecurity recruitment must increase now

Following the recent hack-attacks on TalkTalk and Ashley Madison, companies are being urged to recruit more cybersecurity staff.

That is according to Richard Cassidy. He is the Technical Director EMEA at Alert Logic. He tells Recruitment Grapevine “Clearly, cybercrime is a lucrative business and cyber-criminals are constantly looking to exploit vulnerabilities, create new malware etc. to keep their business thriving.”

He argues that having a system in place to protect companies from attacks is not enough. Cassidy says: “The problem is effective analysis by talented and capable individuals. The reality for many organisations is that there are not enough cyber security analysts to be able to review all security data points in-house.

“For every company requiring 24/7 coverage, there is a need for at least four analysts working shift patters with no holidays or leave.”
