Denise Coates, Head of Training at Nurse Plus, is challenging perceptions of the care industry.
What do you think is the key to being successful in your role?
I have a real passion for the care industry. My mum was a carer when I was at school and I was a carer myself when my daughter was little. I have seen so many changes over the years, with carers now helping people to stay in their own homes with increasingly complex needs such as PEG feeding or controlled medication. With this in mind, training is vital to ensure that our staff feel confident in what they are doing and our clients have the reassurance they are receiving skilled and competent staff.
