The HR department at Whoville Town Council have been celebrating the magnificent turnaround of their latest employee – the Grinch.
Grinch was initially working remotely from Mount Crumpit. His reasoning for this was a previous conflict with Augustus May Who, the Mayor of Whoville. A workplace love triangle involving the two and Martha May Who, which resulted in the Grinch nearly ruining Christmas.
Speaking to HR Grapevine at the time of his flexible working, Grinch said: “I don't know why I ever leave this place. I've got all the company I need right here. Just me and Max. Max? Max? Max?”
There were, however, misgivings about his answering machine message, which went: “If you utter so much as one syllable, I'LL HUNT YOU DOWN AND GUT YOU LIKE A FISH! If you'd like to fax me, press the star key.”
However, after much efforts placed on workplace reconciliation, the Grinch (and his dog Max) have been successfully integrated into the workplace culture of Whoville Town Council.
Theodor Seuss Geisel described the change in the Grinch to HR Grapevine: “And the Grinch, with his Grinch-feet ice cold in the snow, stood puzzling and puzzling, how could it be so? It came without ribbons. It came without tags. It came without packages, boxes or bags. And he puzzled and puzzled till his puzzler was sore. Then the Grinch thought of something he hadn’t before.
“What if workplace culture, he thought, doesn’t come from a store. What if it, perhaps, means a little bit more…”
