Jamie Oliver's company accused of treating staff 'ruthlessly'

Jamie Oliver’s management company is making staff redundant on Christmas Eve.

Staff at his Recipease store in Notting Hill have been told that the last day of trading will be 24th December 2015. Recipease is a cookery school, café and shop.

Over 40 workers will lose their jobs, but half will be relocated to other Jamie Oliver related stores. All staff will be paid until New Year’s Eve. The company says the consultancy process has been “very thorough.”

One employee said to The Times: “Everyone here feels let down; particularly those like me who have worked a long time for Jamie and put everything into this shop. Christmas is the worst time to lose your job. The management have been ruthless.”
