52% of Britain is set to work over the festive period, according to new research.
A survey conducted by Workwear Express looked at British employee’s thoughts and preconceptions surrounding the festive period. Asking over 1,000 UK workers, the report found that 28% of people don’t mind working at Christmas, so long as their shifts are scheduled fairly.
Comparatively, just 12% of workers say they actively enjoy working over the holidays, with a further third saying that they would rather be home with their loved ones. This is particularly true of employees in the retail and hospitality sector, with 47% and 25% of them respectively admitting that they hate working in December.
It seems that employees aged 18-24 are the happiest to be working Christmas, with 18% of people saying they love working over the festive period.
