A Wal-Mart employee of 18 years has been fired for not turning in money he found fast enough.
Maintenance Worker Michael Walsh initially found a $5 note in the parking lot he was working at and handed in the money instantly. He then returned to work in the parking lot, and found a small stack of $10 and $20s. There was no envelope in the vicinity, so it was not possible to identify the owner of the money, The Hamilton Spectator reports.
He finished his task and counted the money ($350). Going back inside he heard a commotion.
"A woman was yelling at a manager, freaking out that she lost her money and I got nervous. I kind of froze and didn't want any trouble,” he said.
