Women who work in the HR industry are expected to earn up to 11% less than their male colleagues, according to a new report.
The annual HR salary survey by XpertHR found that this gap can equate to the equivalent of £4,534 per person in cash terms.
The growing gender pay gap has been a topic of much debate recently, with more employee and women’s rights groups campaigning for equal wages between the sexes.
According to the new report, the pay gap in the HR sector is almost entirely accounted for by differences in senior male and female pay. Male HR Directors earn at least £19,000 more than their female counterparts. Just below executive level, male senior function heads earn a shocking 13.5% more than they would if they were female, with general function heads seeing a 10.9% rise in salary.
