Employees at a Zoo went above and beyond the call of duty when they rescued a man who had leapt into a polar bear enclosure.
According to The Local, witnesses told DR that the man entered the enclosure to take a photograph. He climbed over and fell seven metres into the security pit, and then walked towards the creature. Sky News explains that the workers tried to distract the animal by shouting until staff with firearms arrived.
The quick-thinking employees at the Copenhagen zoo expertly utilised their training to do their utmost to save the man, while also ensuring that others were safe.
A spokesman for the zoo told AFP: “He went up to the bear and it examined him by sniffing him and shoving him, and he sustained some superficial injuries.
