Twitter backlash for Sol Campbell after 'terrible' employee post

Former England footballer Sol Campbell has caused a social media storm after taking to Twitter to complain about the service he received in a London café.

The former Arsenal player posted: “Such terrible service from Liam at @CambridgeStCafe this morning! I will not be going back there again!” However, it seems that the tweet had the opposite effect to the one that was intended, when Twitter users rose up in their droves to ridicule the athlete and jump to the employees defence.

After a while, Liam, the staff member in question, replied to Campbell, offering his personal apologies for any offense caused, writing: “Liam here. Think we got off on the wrong foot. Would love to make amends. Hopefully see you soon.”

Campbell has yet to respond.
