Don’t text and walk! That’s the message from a ‘safety alert' issued by a university to its staff.
Employees at the University of Newcastle in Australia were informed by the institution to not walk and text at the same time via a group email.
The email said that “a number of university staff” have been treated in 2015 for injuries suffered on campus while using their phones to text, email or check social media, the Newcastle Herald reports.
“When using your smartphone… you’re not in full control with the action of walking because you can’t see the path in front of you,” the email continued.
