Last week, the World Economic Forum (WEF) found that it will take another 118 years - or until 2133 – to eradicate the global gender pay gap.
Ann Pickering, O2’s HR Director, spoke to Executive Grapevine about her thoughts on the research.
She says that the WEF’s findings emphasised how long is left on the road to gender equality, and that the solution lies in a diverse pipeline: “While the recently-met Lord Davies’ women on Boards target was a positive step on the journey to workplace equality, we still have a long way to go before there is genuine parity between women and men.
“In today’s society, where women are on the frontline with men in workplaces from the House of Commons to Silicon Valley, the notion that we’re still over a century away from achieving true gender equality is incredibly disheartening.
