What do you think is key to being a successful HR Director?
- Credibility. You’ve got to have credibility at Board level and within the organisation. Allied to that is credibility of those relationships. If you don’t have credibility or strong relationships, it doesn’t matter how amazing you are, it just isn’t going to happen.
- Being completely connected to the business. Understanding what the business is about, getting under the skin of it, knowing what drives it, and what changes it.
What type of change?
People often talk about transformative change, but I prefer incremental change. Constantly moving and nudging people towards better engagement, or working towards a different culture.
