Man sacked by text for 'liking' a photo on Facebook

After ‘liking’ a photo of a jumper on Facebook, an employee was notified by text that he was to be dismissed.   

Troy Garrod, who had worked at Bertram Books’ warehouse for over four years, ‘liked’ a photo of a jumper that had five wolves on the back of it. The jumper was hanging on the back of a chair. 

It was captioned: “OMG I’m ******* crying… I’m sure there’s a wolf fleece appreciation page pahahaha.” It is believed that the photo was inspired by a Facebook group titled “Wolf Fleece Appreciation Society.”

Garrod subsequently received a text message saying his employment was terminated.
