Nearly ten million working days were lost due to stress in 2014/15, according to the public body Health and Safety Executive.
The online stress tracker Twitter Stress-O-Sphere says that people tweet about stress every two seconds, with 17% of these tweets relating to employment. Career anxieties consist of seven per cent, with stress making up six per cent.
Speaking to HR Grapevine, Dr Philip McCrea, Managing Director of BHSF Occupational Health, gave his three tips to help eliminate stress in the workplace.
