Results over relationships? Lewis Hamilton's F1 victory shows lack of team bond


Though Lewis Hamilton is undoubtedly reeling from his recent Formula One victory, speculation has been rife as to his relationship with Mercedes teammate Nico Rosberg.

Following his win, Hamilton jokingly threw a hat at Rosberg which the German driver threw straight back. 

Their long-held feud raises questions as to the importance of succeeding at the cost of destroying workplace relationships. Rosberg and Hamilton may be winning trophies, however their domineering personalities and lack of communication has caused a major rift between the pair.

Liz Rochester, Director of Co Company, explained during an interview with HR Grapevine the importance of breaking down barriers within a team in order to move forward and excel. She said: “Collaboration, teamwork, and the breaking down of silos make a significant contribution to the success of an organisation.
