Twitter CEO gives £128m of shares to employees

The Twitter Co-Founder, who was recently appointed as the company's permanent Chief Executive, is sharing £128m of stock with his employees.

According to The Financial Times, Jack Dorsey said he was giving one per cent of the company to the 3,700 employees. The shares will be put in the staff pool from which they are then rewarded, depending on their performance. Distributed evenly, it would equate to approximately £35,708 to each employee.

An employee at the company told the BBC’s New York correspondent via Twitter that "folks are ready to run through walls for him and the company. Before...and even more now."

Dorsey also commented on the matter and said: “The plan is to ‘reinvest directly in our people.’” He also tweeted: "I'd rather have a smaller part of something big than a bigger part of something small."
