Subway workers could be fired for selling subs shorter than 1 foot

Staff at Subway may face dismissal if they sell a sub that is less than 12 inches, according to a new court settlement.

Subway has been working on a settlement for two years since American consumers sued the fast food restaurant-chain. They sued the company after feeling cheated of an inch of their sandwiches, the Independent reports.

The case began in 2012 after a photo that showed that a supposed 12-inch sub was only 11 inches long went viral.

As part of the settlement, the sandwich giant has pledged to keep a measurement tool in all their restaurants to ensure that customers get all the inches they deserve. The restaurants will also be subjected to monthly measurement inspections.
