Rail company criticised for “insensitive” mass rejection letter

Rejection letters sent internally by Abellio, which runs the ScotRail franchise, have been criticised by unions.   

ScotRail said the email was sent to approximately 200 internal candidates.  

Part of the email stated that the application was below the desired standard. It continued to say: “The form did not clearly demonstrate your understanding of the train driver role or the transferable skills that are required.”

It implored the failed applicant to: “Consider the effort you put into the process and how much you want the role.”
