Sony to pay employees £5.2m following hacking scandal

In the wake of last year’s hacking scandal, Sony will pay up to £5.2million to employees.

Last year, Sony’s computer system was bypassed by hackers calling themselves Guardians of Peace. They were attempting to disrupt the release of the film The Interview.

A group of current and former employees had sued over the loss of personal data during the hack, including 47,000 social security numbers, employment files, salaries, and medical information.

Leaked emails revealed allegations of a racist and sexist culture.
