The RAC has clamped down on a workplace relationship, which saw one employee made redundant after being too affectionate on the job with his wife.
The employee was a temporary employee at RAC. He claimed that he had been fired after giving his wife a peck on the cheek during one of their shifts together. The worker at question admitted it was to calm his wife down, as she was nervous about her new job. She had spent her previous years looking after the couple’s four children.
However, the RAC defended their decision, claiming that the employee already had three disciplinary hearings for various other offences whilst working there. According to the MailOnline, the Bristol-based staff member had previously broken company rules. The breaches involved “using his personal phone at work and watching videos online during a shift.”
A spokesperson for the RAC commented that the man in question “was an employment agency temporary worker who was at our Bristol site for ten weeks.
