Following the hiring of new Chief Executive Jes Staley, a lot is expected to change at Barclays. Not least of which could be the stringent ban of flip-flops and beachwear at work.
Gambling company Ladbrokes is so sure of the fact that Staley will relax the dress code once again that they have offered 3/1 odds on the probability.
As Executive Grapevine reported earlier this year, the stringent ban on flip-flops was thought to have been instigated by then Interim CEO John McFarlane. The majority of staff affected worked at the Northampton branch; however the ruling applied to employees at head office too.
McFarlane was intent on portraying a sleek and sophisticated image of Barclays to the world which, unfortunately for the more casually dressed staff, did not include flip-flops.
