Twitter staff discover redundancy via frozen email accounts

Staff at Twitter initially learned they were jobless when the company froze their email accounts, it has been claimed.

Bart Teeuwisse, a Senior Software Engineer, wrote on Twitter this morning: “I’ve been impacted by [Twitter’s] layoffs. This is how I found out this morning.”

He then posted two images side by side. The first was a picture of the day’s finance news saying: “Twitter laying off eight per cent of its global workforce.”

The second was of his email inbox saying “No access: There was a problem accessing the account ‘[email protected].’ Please log in to your account.”
