The Chief Executive of Sports Direct has been charged with a criminal offense following mass-layoffs in January.
David Forsey, CEO at Sports Direct, has allegedly broken layoff rules following the collapse of the clothing firm USC, the Evening Times reports.
The 49-year old executive is accused of failing to notify authorities of plans to layoff warehouse staff in Scotland. A House of Commons Scottish Affairs Select Committee hearing in March heard that over 200 staff members were only given 15 minutes notice that they would lose their jobs in January.
79 permanent staff and 166 agency or zero-hour contract workers lost their positions in South Ayrshire, according to the Evening Times.
