Teen hired by app firm after imitating Twitter account

A student was hired by the Founder of his favourite app after creating a duplicate account for it on Twitter.

Video sharing app Beme was shocked after seeing someone running a customer service Twitter account, under the company name.

Conner McMahon, a fan of the firm's Founder as well as the social app, believed he was helping the company. The 17-year-old student told the Wall Street Journal (WSJ) that he began the account because Beme seemed “overwhelmed” by the amount of tweets.

“I love to help people out, even if it’s just with the simplest things. For example, helping someone out on Twitter with support issues some user(s) may be having. If I know the answer, why not help out! It takes some weight off the shoulders of the team at Beme.”
