A male employee working for Girls in Tech, a non-profit focused on recruiting more women into the technology industry, has resigned following a misogynistic email rant.
John DeMartini, Director of Corporate Sponsorships for Girls in Tech, sent a message to MindJet CMO Amy Millard about potentially sponsoring an upcoming event. However, when Millard declined, DeMartini replied in a rude and offensive tone, which led to Millard posting the whole exchange on Twitter.
The email from DeMartini read: “You’re kidding right? Minjet supports an organisation who’s tagline is “The Community of Queer Women in and around Tech” and you are all uptight about an event called “Lady Pitch Night”?
“Well, if you read the folks who are sponsoring this event…a whole lot of women who are way more accomplished than you don’t have any problem with the name of our organisation and the name of the event.
