H&M hires first hijab-wearing Muslim model

H&M has hired its first woman to model in a hijab (an Islamic headscarf).

The large global retailer has released an advert featuring the Muslim model Mariah Idrissi.

In the advert, Idrissi is wearing a patterned hijab and a coat with sunglasses. Working for a salon in London, she explains her surprise at being selected. “I honestly have no idea why [they chose me],” she told Fusion.
