Why tech firms need a Director of Diversity

Last month we reported that demand for the ‘Head of Diversity’ position in the tech sector was high.   

The role that Autodesk advertised for was Director of Diversity & Inclusion.

The company are currently involved in multiple diversification schemes, but they felt that they needed a focal point from which to work. Speaking to Executive Grapevine, Stacey Redman,  Senior Director for HR, Industry Groups, and M&A, elaborates: “[Someone who can build] a strategic view of our activities and sponsorships, and then build a plan to create a definition of diversity and inclusion for Autodesk, whilst creating a business case as to why it is important on a strategic and day-to-day level.    

“This role will help to define key behaviours - what people actually do to create a culture of inclusion.”
