A consultation being held by HMRC about removing travel and subsistence relief for temporary workers has been underway for the past two months.
The review is part of a wider look at the employment status of interim or contract staff – something that has given HR professionals the country over a headache for many a year.
Ahead of the consultation closing at the end of this month, Resource Management has produced a handy overview of three things every HR professional needs to know about the T&S review:
1. The consultation document is about removing travel and subsistence relief for temporary workers who are engaged via an intermediary company (i.e. one who sits between them and the end client). The headline is that change is definitely on the way and if it goes ahead it is likely these will come into effect from April 2016.
