Target aims for employee health boost with wearable fitness technology

As part of Target’s initiative to associate itself with health and wellness, they have offered Fitbits to its 365,000 workers.

Staff will also receive a 30% discount on fresh and frozen food.

Jodee Kozlak, Executive VP and HR Chief Officer, reassured workers that: “It’s forever — we’re not taking it away.”

Workers who opt in to Fitbits wellness program will be divided into teams and will take part in a competition. Those that partake will have their progress assessed on a dashboard. The winners will award a charity of their choice $1million (£640,000).
