10 most common sexist office behaviours revealed

87% of women believe that their gender is stunting their career progression, according to a new report.

The survey, which was conducted by Stylist Live, interviewed 2,000 women on discrimination and gender bias in the UK workforce today. The results have shown that 17% of women believe that they have been passed over for promotion purely because of their gender, whilst a shocking 24% claimed that it was harder for them to gain recognition in their career.

A further fifth of women asked admitted that they think the men in their offices could get away with “slacking off” more in the workplace, and almost a third explained that many assumed their work was a lot easier than that of a male colleague.

The survey also found the top 10 most common sexist things which happen to women whilst at work, including accusations of incompetency and allegations of lower wages. The full list can be found below.
