Two McDonald’s employees have been fired after reportedly stealing and spending company takings at a nearby casino.
The fast food restaurant in Manchester has launched an investigation following accusations that staff had taken money from the branch in the city centre before spending it in the Genting Club across the road.
It is suspected that the employees gave thousands of pounds worth of takings to friends who then used it to place high stakes bets in the casino. The Manchester Evening News (M.E.N) reports that the scheme began to unravel when then light-fingered workers began losing money.
M.E.N claimed that one source from the same Manchester McDonald’s branch said: “It was pretty stupid. They were always going to get caught once they started losing.
