Detective sacked for sharing officer's job application

A Police Detective has been dismissed after sending an officer’s job application to a colleague considering the same post.

Detective Constable (DC) Lee Pollard worked for Essex Police’s child abuse investigation team and was sacked without notice for gross misconduct.

A panel chaired by Assistant Chief Constable (ACC) Maurice Mason heard that Pollard copied and disclosed another police officer’s computerised application for a job in October 2013 without permission. Pollard accepted these claims.

Having breached standards, ACC Mason said: "DC Pollard has been found to have lacked honesty, integrity and confidentiality, which are fundamental values that police officers need to portray in order to maintain public confidence in Essex Police.”
