Nintendo's former Head of HR takes over President role

Nintendo has appointed Tatsumi Kimishima to take on the role of President, following the death of Satoru Iwata in July.

Kimishima has previously been the company’s Managing Director and Head of Human Resources and had been CEO of the business’s American arm before these duties were taken on by Iwata in 2014.

He joined the Pokémon Company in 2000 as CFO, having previously worked at Japan’s largest bank for 27 years.

Shigeru Miyamoto and Genyo Takeda, who have been running the company in an interim capacity, will take on positions at the top of the company as Creative Fellow and Technology Fellow respectively.
