'Sexist' LinkedIn message ignites equality row

A barrister has created a media storm over a "sexist" LinkedIn message sent to her by a solicitor 30 years older than her.

Charlotte Proudman, a barrister in human rights law at the Chambers of Michael Mansfield QC, received a message from Alexander Carter-Silk, Head of European Intellectual Property at Brown Rudnick, on LinkedIn.

His message read: “Charlotte, delighted to connect, I appreciate that this is probably horrendously politically incorrect but that is a stunning picture!!!”

“You definitely win the prize for the best LinkedIn picture I have ever seen.
