Marissa Mayer would be fired if not pregnant, claims professor

Yahoo CEO Marissa Mayer would be fired within six months if she wasn’t pregnant, a New York University professor has claimed.

In an interview on Bloomberg’s Surveillance TV show, Scott Galloway, Clinical Professor of Marketing, said that Mayer is “the most overpaid CEO in history”.

Galloway criticised the company’s strategy, recent acquisitions and hiring policies, saying: “Their core business is in decline, you have a CEO who has made some of the worst acquisitions in the history of Tech. She has made senior level hires that have cost in excess of $100million in some instances.

“In my view, and this is going to fill up my inbox tomorrow morning, if she hadn’t announced she was pregnant with twins she’d be out of a job within six months.”
