Vloggers recruited to help overcome engineering skills shortage

Vloggers have been hired to attract young people to engineering as the sector struggles with a growing talent gap.

The organisation Tomorrow’s Engineers has hired two video bloggers as a way to inspire young people to take up engineering.

The vloggers are Lily Kate France, aged 17, and Nayeeb Chowdhury, aged 21. Paul Jackson is the Chief Executive at EngineeringUK, which is one of the supporters of Tomorrow’s Engineers.

He says: “Lily and Nayeeb are energetic STEM advocates who will bring engineering to life for young people across the UK. Vlogging brings a new dimension to Tomorrow’s Engineers Week with our new young starts showcasing engineering in action across the UK. We want as many engineers as possible to feature as the highlight the wonderful careers engineering has to offer.”
