Work-induced insomnia on the rise

Over a third of workers have suffered insomnia due to stress at work, a poll has found.

36% of those surveyed said they could not sleep due to stress. 38% reported feeling sick due to work, and 68% had felt exhausted as a result of their employment.

Workplace related stress was also found to have a knock-on effect out of office hours too; 35% have cancelled social plans, and 28% have had their weekends disrupted.

Three per cent confessed to worrying for five or more hours each day while they were away from the workplace.
